ABWF was founded in 1996, with its first programs held at the Atlanta Olympic Games. The programs included the most representative youth peace event in history, with hand-selected leaders from 154 countries; and, the Olympic Outdoor Adventure program. Each was successful in its mission to develop and promote international cooperation, communication, ideas, team-building, peace, and goodwill.
